Are you starting to feel overwhelmed are you counting down the weeks/days to Christmas, is your to do list looking more like a novel?
Do you relate to any of these questions, I certainly do? As I write this I can feel the stress rising.
I want to do Christmas well, I want to enjoy the lead up to Christmas Day.
How can I do this though when I have a list of so many things that I need to do before the end of the school term as well?
I have been asking myself this for the last few weeks. I don’t want to be worn out, burnt out, or a big ball of mess on Christmas Day.

My plan for now is to take each day as it comes and to make the most of the day.
I will plan for each day and I will plan well including the time to just relax watch a DVD, read a book or listen to music.
At the moment I am managing this well.
Today I arrived home a bit earlier then the last few days and have decided that tonight I am going to take it easy.

I accomplished so much today and I am really pleased about it.

My life is rather busy at the moment I am working 5 days a week at 4 schools, I am also transitioning into a role which commences next year and also I want to have the time to spend with my family.

I really need to have my planner with me or I would be lost.

Be kind to yourself have those breaks when you need to.
Plan something nice to do after you finish a major task.
Enjoy this time of year, celebrate well.

Be a joy to be around.

November Challenge

Today’s challenge was to take a picture with shapes and it was to be in black and white.
As I was reading the email I thought where am I going to find something that is a bit arty and in black and white?

So today at one of my schools we had a helicopter visit the school.
I raced to collect my camera and decided to take a picture of the helicopter blades.

So this is my picture for today.

November Challenge

Today’s challenge was to take a picture of colour.
When I was reading the email, I was looking at a box of crayons that where on the table.
I decided how much colour you can get from a box of crayons.
I thought about crayons and what they can do.
I have used these crayons in my work with students, I have also used them for holiday programs. I have also let my nieces use them when they have a sleep over. They are well used and still have more life in them.

Crayons bring joy, they can help you to create, and you can also mix them and discover new colours.
They are endless fun for children and I would have to say adults.

When was the last time you used crayons?
Take a blank piece of paper and some crayons and just start drawing.
What did you create?

November Challenge

Connection

Last week one of the photo challenges was to take a picture of connection, it talked about how easy it is for people to connect all over the world. This has been made possible through the internet and social media.

I found this one a bit challenging and decided to leave it until the weekend to focus on what connecting with others looks like for me.
I decided that coffee played a great part in connecting with people.
If you know me I love coffee and I like hot coffee.
Oh and it must be good.
I also love catching up with friends for coffee, you see I have this theory that coffee is the perfect complement to discussing what is happening in our lives.
I now love trying out different coffee places and discovering great coffee.
What happens when I meet with other for coffee?
Problems are discussed, it is time to be real with friends, we share what is going on in our lives without judgement, and solutions are found to what we are going through.
Most of all I love meeting people and being inspired by what they are doing in their lives.
Community is built, we share each other’s journeys and friendships are made stronger.

November Challenge

Today’s challenge was to take a photo of mystery.
Hmm not quite sure what they meant by that but after reading the challenge it has something to do with the sun and the light.
Today I am working in the hills so once again I have tried to get the sunlight in the picture to let it focus on the item in the picture.
I really could not decide which picture to include so I am choosing a few.

I am really enjoying trying to find just the right experience to capture the moment. It is also helping me to look around and see things differently.

November Challenge

Today’s challenge was to take a picture of warmth using the sun.
I found this a bit challenging because when I first read about it I really didn’t know what I was going to take a picture of.

I ended up arriving home and discovering the sun shining through a tree and I really wanted to capture it. I hope that I have.

I also decided to take a picture of the blue sky and the clouds.

Really enjoying this challenge, it is making me stop and look around my world more.
I know that sometimes we can rush through the day doing all the things that need to be finished.
This challenge has made me think I do have a chance through the day to stop and capture the moment.
Take a moment and really look around.

Life and the Single Christian Girl
November Challenge

I have had an amazing weekend.
Friday night I had Youth Group and I spoke about Prayer. I loved preparing for the night and developing a power point display and creating a Prayer handout.
Yesterday I attended a conference about Youth Ministry. I loved catching up with people who I hadn’t seen for a while, meeting new people and learning. I love learning and I know that I do not want to stop.
The conference went from 1pm until just after 9pm. They had great electives, it was really hard having to just select two, I did mange though.
This morning it was an early start and I was on the worship team at church. Love to worship.
My day didn’t end after church, we then attended the Hills Church Together. This was a really nice time where churches from the community met up together. We had our worship team and it was so nice to sing outside in nature.

It was peaceful it was just beautiful.
I also had a time to share about Chaplaincy.

Now I am home and reflecting on the weekend, yes I am tired but it is a great tired.
I feel like I have experienced so much this weekend.

I am also so grateful for the experience that I had this weekend.

I am ready and expectant for the week.

Today’s challenge was to take a picture of solitude.
My life at the moment is really busy and I love it.
I really do and I am learning so much on this amazing journey.
I do need to remember to take some time out and just to recharge.
My photo is of a candle, I love this candle and I brought it a in the last school holidays.
For me a candle means light, it’s calming and it sets the atmosphere.
