Yesterday was world kindness day.
I love being kind.
Last week at one of the schools that I work at I set up a table for students to come and send kindness to others.
I had cards, quotes, stickers and post-it note the students were able to write on the cards and share kindness. I also had cards that said I caught you being kind.
The kindness table was set up at recess and lunch, it was very popular.
I loved how excited they were about choosing the cards and then encouraging others.
I was encouraged by how they took the time out of their recess and lunch to share kindness.
I love how they were in the moment.
It was so lovely to see them being kind and encouraging others.
Kindness is something that I talk about a lot at one of my schools at assembly.
One of my favourite quotes is-
I love this quote a lot and have it up in my offices at the schools that I am at.
I would love a t-shirt with this quote.
It doesn’t take much to be kind, it really doesn’t.
It doesn’t have to be a monetary thing at all.
Kindness can be-
- A smile
- Going out for coffee
- A kind word
- An encouraging note
- Letting someone in line go in front of you
- Just listen
- Give your time
- Volunteer
- Give a handmade gift
- Say thank you
- Blessing someone with a home cooked meal
- Spending time with someone
- Pay it forward
I would love to hear from you about how you share kindness.
Let’s throw kindness around like confetti you never know who you are going to be a blessing to.
Helping someone in the shopping centre who might not be able to reach an item
Giving a homeless man food and toiletries
