What Are You Passionate About?

What Are You Passionate About?

Whatareyoupassionateaboutpic

Today I have been thinking about what are you passionate about?

What is on your heart that you want to make a difference?

How can we encourage one another?

This has been such an interesting year, it really has.

How can we be there to support each other, how can we be there to support others?

What is something that you have said when I…. I will do this, I will do this when…………..?

God has given you amazing gifts and talents and he really wants you to embrace your gifts.

Sometimes I don’t know about you but I don’t feel qualified, I really don’t. I can tend to shrink back, I really do.

But then when I read about the amazing women and men of the Bible I know that I am not alone. I know that I have God cheering me on.

I love Mathew 7- Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.

If you don’t know what you are passionate about pray ask God to show you how he sees you.

Ask Him to show you.

Be Brave Beautiful One.

Be Brave.

Ask and keep on asking.

Press Pause

Reading-

Matthew 11:28

Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Devotional-

I am so grateful for holidays, I really am.

I am so grateful that I am able to press pause, to press pause and just rest.

I love my role as a Primary School Chaplain, I really do.

I had prayed to have a job that I could make a difference.

I have learnt to press pause during the holidays.

I don’t know about you but holidays allow me to slow down, holidays allow me to have space to create, holidays allow me to refocus on where I am going and what I need to do.

I don’t know about you, but what happens when you are on holidays?

These holidays I am pressing pause.

I am pressing pause on-

  • Rushing
  • Being busy
  • Boundaries
  • Drinking my early morning coffee quickly

Jesus said – Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Lord I want to have your rest, I want to hear what you want me to do in the next season.

When I don’t know what to do and I am tired I want to run to Him.

I want Jesus to direct my path, I want him to show me and guide me.

I want to hear from Him.

What are you pressing pause on?

Hello July

Hello July

Hello July pic

I love the new beginning that each month brings, I really do, there is something about a new month.

A new month provides new possibilities, new goals, new adventures, new opportunities. It provides a time to reset.

It is a time to reflect on what has happened in the previous month, it is also a time to reflect on what you have achieved.

It also allows us to pause and breath.

Yes, we do need to be kind to ourselves.

We are now in the 7th month of the year and yes this has been an interesting year.

It really has, maybe we have had to pause our goals for the moment.

Maybe we have had to reassess our goals and what we value.

Maybe we have to be patient.

What are some of the goals that you have wanted to achieve this year?

What are some goals that you have achieved?

What have you been praying for this month?

I would love to hear from you.

I do believe that what has happened this year that we need to be kind to ourselves, we need to be patient and we need to adjust when we achieve our goals.

Let’s encourage one another.

Write the Vision

Write the Vision

writethev1

Reading-

Habakkuk 1:2

Then the Lord answered me and said: Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

Devotional-

I love this scripture, I love how it says write the vision and make it plain.

When I first became a Christian there was so much that I wanted to do, I had a list that was so long.

I had not brought my dreams and plans to God.

I had not come to him in prayer and asked him what he wanted me to do.

I have now come to realise that God has given me and you, talents & gifts that he wants me and you to use.

I know for me that this took time, what was my strengths, what was my gifts?

I needed to pray?

I needed to seek wise counsel?

I really wanted to use my gifts for God, that has always been on my heart.

It took time, it took prayer, it took His time.

For me, I went through an illness where I really needed to press into God.

I knew that I could not do this on my own.

He was there for me, even when I did not see what he was doing.

I did know that he was making away.

He was there He was helping me to write my vision.

He was there helping me to refine my vision.

Today I want to ask you what is your vision?

What is God saying to you?

What is He wanting you to do?

Write it down?

Buy yourself a journal and write it down.

Remember to write down today’s date and write down what He is saying to you.

Share with someone you trust what God is saying to you.

Let’s encourage one another.

You are amazing.

Reading
Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Devotional
I don’t know about you but I love this verse, it moves me to compassion it moves me to make a difference, it moves me to speak out.
It moves me to speak out even if my voice shakes.
Yes, it does!
I work as a primary school Chaplain and I love my role, I really do.
There are sometimes that I need to speak up there are sometimes when I need to have those difficult conversations.
They are not always easy, but they are necessary.
I also am a mentor for girls and women going through an eating disorder and I love this role.
I love this role where I am able to share my journey and help others.
I do need to speak truth and compassion in this role.
I am not a person who loves confrontation, I really am not.
I tend to shrink back.
I have come to realise for me that when there is injustice it moves me.
Where there is injustice I am moved to speak up, I am moved to make a difference.
I am prepared to stand in the gap to help others.
I know that I am not doing this alone and I know that God is with me.
I am always prayerful when these situations arise.
What is something that you stand up for?
What is something that you are passionate about?
What moves you?
I would love to hear from you.

Scripture Mark 5:25-34

The Woman  who had been Unwell

Recovery is a journey it is not one straight line and that is okay.

I love the story in Mark 5:25-34 it is about a woman who had been unwell for a while and needed a miracle. She knew that if she just touched Jesus she would be healed. I admire this woman she had, had enough of being unwell. She put her faith into action and was healed.

It took a decision for her to realise that she had enough of being unwell. She also had to make her way to where Jesus was and to push past the crowd. I wonder what she was thinking as she did this, I wonder if she was nervous or excited. It must have taken all of her energy to reach out and touch Jesus clothes. She had faith.

The part that encourages me and helped me was when He said to her “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”

Wow!

This scripture encouraged me, in my recovery I wanted to be a woman of faith.

Now, I was not healed instantly, mine was a journey of discovering who I really was. I am okay with my recovery journey, it is my unique story. It took time.

Recovery looks different for everyone, so let’s not compare our journey with others.

You are you. You are created for a purpose on purpose.

Your journey of recovery is yours to explore, to realise that you are a gift and to trust and have faith.

So be kind to yourself, every day is a new day.

Do something nice for yourself.

Buy a nice journal and a lovely pen and write draw.

Maybe buy yourself a nice perfume and wear it every day.

Remember these words-

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
