On Sunday I went with my sister to her work, she is an amazing woman that is the CEO of Water Ski Australia.
We went to her open day which was so much fun, this was on the Perth river.
We have such a beautiful river in Perth called the Swan River.
I had decided that I would go water skiing.
Yes!
Now let me share somethings with you (insert venerable moment) that I am a little bit afraid of-
- If I am swimming, I really need to see the bottom of the water
- I donโt like jelly fish, I really donโt
- If anything touches my leg, I might let out a very loud scream
- I am not a very good swimmer.
Well there you go.
But I wanted to face my fear and I wanted to have some fun and an adventure.
So, I booked in for a have a go session and my sister went out on the boat with me.
Oh, my goodness, let me just say that it is really such a physical sport.
The instructors I had were so amazing, kind and especially patient.
I practised in the boat first and then had to put on my skies and jump into the water.
Yes, I did that.
Then it was time to swim towards the bar on the side of the boat.
I think that water skies have a mind of their own and they just were not co-operating with me.
I had to use my strength to make my way towards the bar and yes, I made it.
I did make it.
I had to just not think about the jellyfish and I really didnโt see any.
I think that I was focusing on wanting to get up on the skis, which I achieved.
What is something that you have been wanting to do?
I think that the funniest part of the day was me trying to get back into the boat.
I am so grateful for my sister pulling up by my life jacket, to get back into the boat.
There are times that you have to rely on others.
2019 for me is to be an adventure, to get out of my comfort zone and say yes to new things.
What is your 2019 looking like?
Would love to hear?
Will share more soon.
How fun! Good on you for facing your fears! ๐๐๐๐๐
Thank you.xx
