Life and the Single Christian Girl…………..

The other day after getting my mail I saw an envelope from Compassion. I am always a bit excited when I see an envelope from Compassion because it means a letter from my sponsor child.

This time it was an update about my sponsor child and a new picture, she is going to be 17 next month. I cannot believe it.

I clearly remember when I first decided to sponsor a child. I thought at the time I would like to because I didn’t have any children of my own.

I cannot believe that I have sponsored her for about 10 years. When I first sponsored her she was 6 years old.

One of the things that drew me to sponsor her was that she loved singing and of course I love singing.

I have not met her yet, but I receive beautiful written letters letting me know what she is doing and what she loves to do.

I am so happy to see that she has grown into a lovely healthy teenager. It makes my heart smile.

She has dreams and she has goals.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………….

This morning I ventured out to go food shopping and to get something to help with my cold.

Today I have cooked chicken, watched TV and basically rested again.

I am taking a day at a time.

Last week was so busy, so I am glad to have some time at home.

I think that being at home does save me money as I was planning to go to IKEA to buy some furniture.

This could possibly happen on the weekend depending how I am feeling.

So for now I just have to be patient and let myself heal.

I have at least today been able to spend a little bit of time looking at Pinterest my favourite site for ideas and quotes.

I really have to limit my time on there as I could spend hours researching for ideas.

I haven’t been able to read much hopefully tomorrow I can get back into reading. I have two books that I do need to finish.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………….

I am writing this post while in bed trying to overcome a cold.

Today is has been the perfect day to stay in bed and watch some girly films.

Things that I am grateful for-
• Having a bed to rest in
• A roof over my head
• Electricity for hot drinks
• Having space to rest
• I am on holidays so I don’t need to take the time of work
• Being able to have a sponsor child
• Being able to read and write
• Being able to use this time to rest and recharge
• Grateful for a career that I love.

There are things that I what to do but I know for now it is time to look after my health.

Hoping and praying to feel better tomorrow.

Short post today but I am committed to writing everyday.

Life and the Single Christian Girl……………

Today I have just been resting, sleeping and watching TV.

I am still not feeling 100% and it is when I have to take the time to rest that I think of the things that I would rather be doing.

I am not very good at resting when I am unwell.

I need to though because I have pushed myself before and it took me a lot longer to recover.

So I need to be patient and rest to be able to achieve all that I would like to do.

I am grateful though.

As I say Today Is a Gift and whether I am healthy or unwell I am going to embrace the day and do what I need to do.

Today is a short post and hopefully tomorrow I will feel a whole lot better.

Back to resting.

Life and the Single Christian Girl……….

This morning I awoke to find out that I had an extremely sore throat. Ohh!

That is okay I was planning to spend the day at home sorting through things.

So I have been taking the day easy which is nice.

I love those days where you can just stay at home and not have to be anywhere at a certain time.

So I have spent the day watching TV, sorting through paperwork and generally tidying up.

I am getting there, I feel that I have achieved a bit in the last few days and I am happy with it.

So tonight it is time to relax and just rest.

I generally find this quite hard but I know to get better that I do need to take time out.

I am hoping and praying that I feel a lot better tomorrow.

Life and the Single Christian Girl……………

Today I have been sorting and going through all my paperwork. I have quite a lot.

It is all good though and I have heaps of resources to draw on.

I had to take another trip to Officeworks, I am beginning to know where everything is kept.

Hoping that this is a good thing.

So I am now taking a break from sorting out items and just looking at what I have achieved. It also reminds me of some of the things that I have been involved in during the last few years.

There has been heaps of throwing out things which I find quite a good thing.

Tomorrow my goal is to finish most of it off.

Oops that is a big ask but I will try my best.

Then hopefully I can go to one of my other favourite stores IKEA to buy some items to store all my new folders and art work.

I don’t think that you can ever have enough art items.

I love being surrounded by art items.

I find that during the school holidays it is a great time to go through items in my house. I think that it is great to have the space to create.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………..

Today wait for it ……………. I had my sleep in, loved it.

I also decided that I was going to go through my resources and re file them.
I went to Officeworks love that place and brought some folder to start off the process.

Then I went to my sister in laws to see her and my nieces and nephew. It was so lovely.

As I walk through the door, I am greeted with sequels of delight and excitement.

Then I am shown all their new toys.

My nephew brings out his sword and shield.

Then my nieces show me their new toys Sylvanian Families and Frankie from Monster High.

I love spending time with them, love creating memories.

We had such a nice time and then we took some photos.

I am really enjoying taking photos, I love experimenting with all the multimedia that is available.

This afternoon I have spent some time going through all my files and sorting them into my new folders that I purchased this morning.

It is only the beginning and it is a good start.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………….

This morning once again started with me waking up to a noise and then realising that it was my alarm.

Oh I could have just slept in this morning, I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

Today was my last day working on the holiday program for the July holiday.

Today we had a drama workshop and it was so much fun. I really like how the children can explore  and develop their creativity.

I had the children for the whole day which was great because we didn’t have to rush through the activities and the children could take their time.

I must say that I have really enjoyed the activities that I had planned and the way the children really enjoyed them.

Each child at the end of the Drama Workshop received a certificate, which I had placed some stickers on it and a pencil.

I love it when I hand out the pencils because they are new and today one of the children said this is not a pencil. I had to laugh because one of the other children said you have to sharpen it.

So now I am on holidays and I am really looking forward to organising my house.

I am really looking forward to just spending some days taking it slowly.

I am looking forward to reading, being creative, journaling, blogging and just taking the day as it comes.

I also love to have days where I don’t have to be anywhere at a certain time.

I also want to have days where I can be spontaneous and have an adventure.

Life and the Single Christian Girl………..

I found it so hard to get up this morning. I could have slept in, I think because it was of the how the weather was.

Today was the second day of the holiday progam and it was so much fun.

This morning I had a clay and playdough session. It was so much fun and the children where amazing. I love their imagination and how pleased they were about what they had created.

In the afternoon I had canvass art and the children drew with textas on a canvas and then they used edicol dye to wash over their pictures.

I really enjoy the creative activities that I am able to do.

So now I am home feeling a little bit exhausted but it is all good.

I am so looking forward to having a sleep in soon, very soon cannot wait.

I am also looking forward to organising my house and especially working on an office area and continuing with the craft area. It is getting there, I just need to be patient and pace myself.

I do really just need to work on things one day at a time and to see what I am able to achieve during the holidays.

Also I need to be a bit realistic.

I am really enjoying the time to be creative and to share creativity with others.

It is so exciting and I am passionate about others developing their own style.

Life and the Single Christian Girl……………

Today was the first day of the Holiday Program.

My activities where teddy bears and card making, oh my goodness they had so much fun.

I just like letting the children come up with their own ideas. I will buy a variety of items then let the children come up with their own ideas.

I love being able to share creativity with the children. The older children really enjoyed the card making they could make as many as they wanted and their designs where amazing.

I think that it is good to not really have a limit for when they are creating.

Tonight I have made 3 batches of playdough for tomorrow’s activities. I am ready and prepared.

I have a clay and playdough program in the morning which is booked out. I cannot wait to see what they are going to make.

This afternoon I caught up with a lovely friend that now lives in Adelaide.

It was so nice to catch up with her. We haven’t seen each other for a while but it didn’t matter. It was like we had just caught up last week.

We met at a coffee shop that I had not been to for a while. It was nice though.

I know that it was pleasant to be inside because the weather was wet, wild and windy.

We need the rain and it was nice drinking hot coffee and chatting.

I have competed all my to do list now. Yeah!!
