New Season February 2015

New Season February 2015

newseason1

It has been a little while since I have written in here.

Last Saturday I had a Creative Retreat with someone who inspires me and encourages me to go beyond my comfort zone. Who asks those thought provoking question who can really challenge me on what I am doing in my life.

I spent the whole day in the most creative environment.

We caught up for coffee first, which is always a good idea and a great starting point.

Then we talked about goals for this year and how to progress towards making them achievable.

I then spent some time on my own answering several questions and brainstorming ideas.

My location for this retreat was near the beach. I loved being by the beach and just enjoying the bliss of sitting in different cafes and enjoying treating myself to lunch in a restaurant right near the beach.

I then went back to my friend’s house and we worked on my blog and my new projects.

My new project I am happy to announce is:

The Heart Project

which is all about helping and encouraging women.

I am really excited to launch into this new season and this new project.

Over the next few months there will be different streams of the project that I will be working on.

I am so excited to be on this journey.

I am a work in progress and so is this project.

Will share more soon.

I love being creative and I have decided that I want to do something creative everyday.

Today I worked on some notice boards that I have at home. I also love using this new colour tape it’s amazing. It really is.

I started with the plain notice board and then placed the coloured tape around the edges. Love the end result.

It’s a little thing, but I am being creative.

I really want to remember that when I go back to work that I am doing something creative everyday.

What does being creative for me look like-

  • Singing, I love to sing and I am so blessed that I am on the worship team at church. I want to sing everyday.
  • Writing, whether it is writing for my blog or writing in my journal.
  • Dancing, I love to dance and I am committed to going to Samba workshops this year as well as continuing with Zumba®.
  • Art, however that my look for me. It may be painting, drawing and designing things.
  • Photography, this is something that I explored a bit last year and I will continue with this year. I love capturing memories.

This year I want to really embrace 2015, this is the theme for my year.

Embrace life, embrace new adventures, embrace travel, and embrace every moment.

What is it that you want to embrace this year?

Will share more soon.

I have been thinking a lot lately about changing things, mixing things up a bit.
I was looking at what I would like to achieve this year and there were some of the goals that I had for last year.
It made me think, do I want to be looking at these goals next year and thinking I must get around to achieving these.
No!
A few years ago a lovely friend of mine said that it was the year of saying yes. So I was challenged to say yes to things. It opened up a whole lot of new opportunities for me and I really enjoyed it.
I am continuing that theme this year as well.
Last year I really wanted to buy some furniture for my house and to decorate it with my style. I would go to the furniture store look at items and then would go home without the furniture, it just seemed so hard.
This year I have decided that it is time, I don’t want to be in this position next year, just existing and not being nice to myself.
The challenge was on, Wednesday I had a plan, it was time to buy the furniture.
I went to the furniture store and mapped out what I needed, I then had to collect the items. One issue was I couldn’t lift them and as I was on my own I had to ask for help.
I went to the pay for my items and then I decided to have them home delivered.
So it finally happened what I had wanted to buy for a while, I did it.
Yeah!
This year it is all about embracing the year, mixing things up and just saying yes to things.
New things, new opportunities, 2015 is exciting.

I can do it.

As I sit and write this, my house is so quiet you see the last few days I have had one of my nieces stay over. I picked her up on Sunday afternoon and took her back home on Wednesday afternoon.
We had an adventure, we had fun.
I love it when she comes over, the house is busy and my heart is full.
We had a movie marathon, we had a feast at night with lots of yummy chocolates, chips and spider drinks.
I spoilt her, it okay it’s in the Aunties position description.
We went shopping to Smiggle, had cold icy drinks at Fast Eddy’s and went food shopping.
We stayed home and created, she was designing fashion.

I cooked planned meals and made a lot of pink milk drinks, her favourite.
We laughed, we danced we sang, we just had fun.
Spending time with my nieces and my nephew is quality time. I love it.
It really makes me slow down and just enjoy the time that we have together.

Now I have a lot of food in my fridge that I would not really buy, and that is okay.

January Moments

The last few days I have been organising, cleaning and sorting out my house. I have really enjoyed it.
I have.
There is something about clearing out things that you don’t need that gives you space to breathe and to think about things with clarity.
I have also had a break from social media, which was nice.
I achieved so much in the last three and a half days.
I have organised a nice craft area where I can spend some time being creative. Which I am really looking forward too.
I am also feeling relaxed, it’s nice to not really having to plan or organise anything at the moment. I do enjoy this but I do need to find balance between my work and my home life.
I have also been reading and catching up on watching movies.
Next week I plan to catch up with friends for coffee.
I also am planning to go back to boxing which I have really missed.
I do think that you need a break and that it is quite healthy to have that down time.
I never really took that much time off in my last job, but now I am in a position where I have to take holidays and I am not complaining at all.

#spacetocreate15 is my new hashtag for this year.

My space to create 15 is-
Something that I want to do every day is to sing. I love singing and this is my goal for 2015. It is one of my creative goals, and I would like to write more at least 2 to 3 times a week for my blog.

What is it that you would like to achieve in January?
Is there something little that you can do?
Be encouraged.
Will share more tomorrow.

January One 2015

The first day of a new year.
Happy New Year!

I have spent the last few days reflecting on 2014 and how much I have grown and tried new things. I love the journey and I am looking forward to it continuing in 2015.

I do have a list of what I want to achieve this year and it all comes back to what I have been thinking about for a while- I want to make a difference.

#iwanttomakeadifference

If you are following me this year you will see this quote a lot. I want to make a difference in the world.
What does that look like?
For me I know that it is to continuing to say yes to new experiences, to having a go and not being afraid of things. It’s about getting out of my comfort zone.
I am excited about this year.
I also what to do something creative every day, I love being creative and I need to be creative.
In January my goal is to work on Princess Heart Journey Projects. I have three on the go at the moment.
1. Finishing Princess Heart Journey Book
2. Finishing Princess Heart Journey Journal.
3. Recording the Princess Heart Journey CD with the songs that I have written.
This for me at this time is achievable and I will be working on them.
I also want to blog every day for the month of January and take a photo as well.

What is one thing that you are going to do differently this year?

Be encouraged.

Will share more soon.

December Moments

I haven’t written for a while as it has been a very busy time leading up to Christmas. So much has happened that I haven’t had time to process it yet.
Things have happened with my job and I have really had to trust the process, as emotional as it was.
Christmas Day was just lovely and I really enjoy spending time shopping for gifts and seeing the reaction when people open them, especially my nieces and nephew. Love it.

Now I am on holidays and I can truly say that I am grateful for the time to recharge and relax. I also am looking forward to reflecting on this year and what I would love to achieve for 2015.

There is so much that I would love to do and I really need to focus on finishing a few projects that need to be completed.
Setting time to finish my projects will be a priority, I don’t want to be writing this next saying that I want to finish my projects.
I am making time to be creative, to embrace the creative journey.

December Moments

I have had an amazing week and weekend and it has been very busy.
Today I am totally exhausted and was planning to continue on with my Christmas Shopping, but I have decided to just rest up a bit.
Friday I went to work and then we celebrated with one of the staff members that were retiring. It was such a beautiful afternoon, with lots of chatting and laughing.
Then I went to youth group which was the last one for the year and we had a Christmas Party.
This was lovely and a great way to celebrate the end of the year.

Yesterday my two beautiful nieces where in the Christmas Pageant, which was really exciting.
My sister drove me, my nieces and my sister in law into the city. My nieces where dressed up in their costumes. We went and had a look at all the Christmas decorations in Myer, they were amazing. Then it was time to have something to eat and then walk to the Convention Centre for the girls to meet up with their musical theatre company.

It was amazing, the colours, the outfits, all the hours of work that had gone into all the outfits, the excitement, seeing all the creative groups that are in WA.
I loved being in the environment of all the busyness and the creativity.

Then it was time to leave my nieces and find our seats in the busy crowd.
We walked along the street where people had already found there perfect place to watch the pageant.

We managed to find our perfect place as well, right in the front which was great.
We had a little while to wait and so we just enjoyed the atmosphere.

Then it was time the pageant had started at 7.30pm. We saw our nieces and they were amazing they were waving to the crowds, high fiving people. I must say that I really enjoyed it and all the beautiful floats.
After it had finished we had to go and collect the girls then it was time for ice cream.
Yes they were very tired.

We dropped them of then my sister and I stayed up chatted and went to bed very late.

It was such an enjoyable day.
