CHANGE

CHANGE

changelife

CHANGE is a word that can bring either fear or excitement.

For me about 6years ago the word CHANGE brought me fear. You see I was in a job that I had been in for about 14 years and yes I loved it but I had become stuck. There wasn’t anywhere for me to go in the industry and I love learning and I needed to be challenged.  I wanted to leave but I was afraid, afraid of change, afraid of letting go of the old and embracing the new.

I finally left that job in December 2010 and at first I was devastated, I was completely wrecked.

What was I going to do now, was the cry from my heart.

I had to take a leap of faith, for me it was like stepping off a cliff and wondering if there was anything to catch me. Well yes there was something there to catch me.

I had been so consumed with my job that I really hadn’t taken time of for holidays, to explore life, to slow down and to really listen to that still small voice saying this is the way Tracey walk in it.

So I slowed down, it took me a while.

I rediscovered who I was.

I had space to just be, space to explore and space to catch up with others.

Change can be scary, but now I find it exciting.

In the last 4 years I have been on a rollercoaster ride of discovery, of learning, of excitement, or developing who I am and who I am meant to be.

My days are never the same and I love that I really do.

I am growing in my career and I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been given.

Now the word change, I do not fear you.

Change I embrace you, change I welcome you and change you make my life exciting.

Change for me now is truly discovering who I am and what I am called to be.

Change opens the door to new opportunities.

This week I encourage you to open the door to change and see what happens.

Will share more soon.

A Coffee Shop Across From the Beach

Yesterday I had such a lovely, beautiful and amazing day.

I drove to visit a friend who I have known since 2003 (I am sure).

We met in a little coffee shop that is just across the road from a lovely beach. I love the drive to Rockingham it is about 40 minutes from where I live. As I left my home the weather was wintery, raining and grey skies. As I drove down the freeway I was heading towards blue skies and when I arrived at the beach the sun was shining.

I love the beach, there is something about the calmness of the waves, rolling into the shore. I love the sand, the shells and that it means to me life.

I was meeting up with my friend who is also an amazing mentor to go through some goals for the rest of 2015.

We drank coffee I had my usual large skinny flat white extra hot. We tried a chocolate slice, we drank water and we chatted.

I am not sure who was in the coffee shop, it was packed when we arrived but we found a seat. We started working, planning and discussing ideas.

I am sure when people left the coffee shop and when new people came in but we were oblivious to what was going on in the coffee shop.

We were on a mission, we were focused, we were thinking, we were making plans.

We were totally focused on ideas, things to do, how to achieve the goals and what steps I needed to do to achieve the goals.

I don’t know about you but I find it really encouraging to be accountable to someone about achieving my goals.

I think that you need someone who can cheer you on.

I am really excited about what I need to do, there is quite a bit to do and I know that I can achieve it.

I really want to share with you on of the goals that I am working on which we titled

Be a storyteller………………

this one is all about communicating. I love that, communicating through blogging, speaking, singing and writing.

I am so looking forward to realising these goals and that I have the choice and the opportunity to achieve them. I have my faith and I know that I am not doing it alone.

I will share more soon.

Embracing Creativity

Embracing Creativity

I am now on school holidays which are great.

It is a time to just slow down and to spend some time reflecting on what I am doing and what I need to put into place to reach my goals for this year.

My goals are always-

  • I want to make a difference and
  • I want to leave a legacy.

I am having a little staycation, where I have been spending some much needed time at home. I love it.

Today I just embraced the day. I have spent the day at home just being, not rushing around, and not having to be anywhere.

I spent some time creating making this sign which I love-

I have also gone back to having singing lessons which I love.

Today has been such a great time of embracing creativity and realising what I need to do.

I know that next term I will be attending boxing at least twice a week.

I will be teaching a dance class once a week.

I will be attending a Samba workshop.

I also want to be singing and songwriting.

I am also looking for a guitarist.

Now it is time to put all of the above into practise.

I am very excited and committed to making 2015 an exciting year full of possibilities.

How are your goals going?

What do you need to do?

Will share more soon.

January Moments

I love being creative and I have decided that I want to do something creative everyday.

Today I worked on some notice boards that I have at home. I also love using this new colour tape it’s amazing. It really is.

I started with the plain notice board and then placed the coloured tape around the edges. Love the end result.

It’s a little thing, but I am being creative.

I really want to remember that when I go back to work that I am doing something creative everyday.

What does being creative for me look like-

  • Singing, I love to sing and I am so blessed that I am on the worship team at church. I want to sing everyday.
  • Writing, whether it is writing for my blog or writing in my journal.
  • Dancing, I love to dance and I am committed to going to Samba workshops this year as well as continuing with Zumba®.
  • Art, however that my look for me. It may be painting, drawing and designing things.
  • Photography, this is something that I explored a bit last year and I will continue with this year. I love capturing memories.

This year I want to really embrace 2015, this is the theme for my year.

Embrace life, embrace new adventures, embrace travel, and embrace every moment.

What is it that you want to embrace this year?

Will share more soon.
