Creating

I love those days where you can just stay home and sort through things.

Today I went through all my kitchen cupboards, sorting and finding all those lids that go with my containers. I did have the lids they were in there all the time. Yeah!

You may think that it is a mundane task to do on such a lovely day but I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed going through all the lovely tea sets that I have the vintage type. I had forgotten about them. They are just so lovely.

I was thinking about how I can redecorate my place last night and was really looking forward to planning it today.

Today also allowed me time to create, I love the #spacetocreate.

I set up an extra desk in my creative area, this has allowed me more space to create. I love it.

I decorated an inspiration board and placed it in my creative area.

I also decorated a tin that I found and gave it a bit of a bling.

Easter Sunday

This weekend I have been very blessed spending time with my family and my nieces and nephew. I also love spending time with my sister.

Then today we went out to lunch with friends I love catching up and hearing about what everyone is up too. There are always lots of changes happening that we need to catch up on, some milestone birthdays are happening this year and also discussing where we are holidaying.

I have included today pictures of people and things that I love.

I am also excited that I am redecorating my house I have been on Pinterst which I love that website. It has lots of great ideas about basically everything that you are interested in. So for me at the moment I want to redecorate my place. I need some more space for all my create items. This morning I went through my creative items and I do have a lot.

I think that maybe a trip to IKEA is the answer to my storage problems. Decorating your house and making it your own is being creative. Your house is a signature of who you are. It is your personal touch and I love that.

Thursday

I will have to say that this week has been an adventure.

I have had the holiday program which has just been amazing. I have really enjoyed the 3 to 5 year olds, they make me laugh and are very caring. One of them even painted me a beautiful picture and brought it in for me.

Feeling so blessed at the moment.

Today the activity was called Shining Stars which is all about drama, making props, designing backgrounds and learning about how to move in different way. We even tried to float around like bubbles while I was blowing bubbles for them.

They designed amazing backgrounds for their play and I have some pictures of their work. They really enjoyed designing them and they worked for quite a while on them.

We then all sat down as a whole group then each group came up and explained their background. Oh the details. They all spoke about what they had drawn, they had put so much thought into them. A squiggled line was a footprint, I love their imagination.

Then it was time for the play and didn’t they shine.

Each child then received a silver shining star that has written on the back- This Shining Star is Awarded to ………………. (their name is added).

They each came up in front of the group and shook my hand and where given their stars. Then everyone gave them a big round of applause. I was very surprised that all of the children new how to shake hands. Their faces when they were presented their stars where so delightful.

Today was my last day at the holiday program.

I am sure that I will attend the next lot of holidays.

School Holiday Project-

If you have children at home this school holidays then how about letting them create their own play. Sell tickets to your friends, set up the audience area with chairs. Use objects around your home for props depending on the play that you are doing. Let them come up with the idea of their play and just go with it (as long as it is safe) they will enjoy it a whole lot more if it is their idea.

If you have younger children 3 to 8 year olds then you will need to supervise them.

Older children may like to write out their play and then rehearse and have the play on a particular day.

Most of all enjoy the whole experience.

Looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow.

Variety

I love my life now, I am able to do so many different things. I love the variety of my life.

As you know I am a school chaplain which I love.

During the holidays I work at a holiday program where I have 3 to 5 year olds. I am only doing 4 sessions this holidays and I love the variety of working with older children as well as the younger children.

The 3 to 5 year olds have different attention spans, they are all individuals which I really enjoy. I like getting to know their little personalities, their selective hearing. (I really love this one although when I mentioned lollies they did hear me).

I just love their creativity and their have a go attitude.

They make me laugh and they are so funny.

My life at the moment is so full, I love what I am able to do and to achieve.

I have noticed that I have this new attitude of no I am not going to let the little things get me down. I am going to focus on the things that I can do and the things that I can change.

I am also really enjoying blogging and learning all about this new area in my life.

Today I haven’t included a project I have some pictures that I took from the holiday program where the children are able to make whatever they like.

They really enjoy this one and the class was fully booked.

I love how they make the most amazing things.  They are learning about many things as they do this. They learn about sharing, about gluing and finding what will stick. They are able to experiment with their ideas and there is time for them to chat to the other children.  This covers their social and emotional development.

It was a great day.

Live Each Day to the Full

This afternoon I attended a funeral of a parent from one of the schools I work at. I wanted to be there to support her children. My heart goes out to her beautiful children.

It always makes you think when you attend a funeral.

It makes you think, am I doing what I love, am I using my time wisely, am I investing in my friendships and am I living each day to the full.

Living each day to the full, what does that look like for you?

How do you create memories?

What are you passionate about?

Are you pursuing your dreams and goals?

Are you making a difference in your community?

Are you going to do things differently?

These are just some of the things that I am thinking about and for me the most important question is am I making a difference in the community.

This is a journey that I am on and I do want to embrace it with everything that I have.

School Holiday Project day Three-

Remember that this is a project and you can work on it during the holidays. Take your time, explore, create and just have fun.

This project is for 5 years and up. Supervision will be needed for younger children.

School Holidays

Today is the last day of first term, the school holidays start tomorrow.

I cannot believe how fast this term has gone and how much has happened.

I love my job, I really do. I am very blessed.

I was thinking as I was driving home today that I wanted to be in a career where I could make a difference. Now I have the opportunity and I love what I do.

I must say though it is nice to have some time off. It’s really quite funny how things work out in my last job I would hardly ever take time off. Now I am in a career where I have this time off and guess what, I love it.

It does help in the balancing of my work and home life.

Even though we are on holidays, we are on call in case something happens in our community.

I know that the teachers and the students are looking forward to the holidays.

I hope that everyone has a lovely and safe holiday.

If you have school holidays what will you be doing?

I will be posting some ideas in the next few weeks.

They will include outings you can go on and lots of craft activities to keep your children busy.

So enjoy tomorrow hope that you get a sleep in.

Looking forward to talking to you tomorrow.
