When You Are Forced To Rest

When You Are Forced To Rest

I had things that I wanted to do this week.

My to do list was quite extensive and I was ready to tackle the items on the list and conquer them.

You see I am on School Holidays for two weeks and this week I had things planned.

Last Saturday I woke up (which is a good thing) and felt dreadful (which was not a good thing) I was aching, tired and just not feeling 100%.

So I had to listen to my body and rest, I slept most of the day and most of Sunday. This is when I know that I am unwell. I also only had one cup of coffee this is also a sign that I was not okay.

It made me think about those times when you are forced to rest. There really isn’t anything that you can do.

You just need to rest.

Have you been running at a fast past?

Have you forgotten to take the time to rest to recharge?

Where is it in your day or week that you can make time for rest?

Not the rest I will just sit down for one minute I am exhausted but now I need to get up rest. I am not talking about that kind; I am talking about the kind where you make it a priority.

The rest where if you have to you write it in your diary. You make it and you a priority.

So this week I was forced to rest I was home 3 days and did not leave my house.

I had to venture out on Tuesday with caution.

When was the last time when you were forced to rest?

What did you do?

Today is you need to rest.

Daily Devo

Shame a word that can cripple us with fear, that can condemn us, that can trap us in our own personal prison.

Is there something in your past that you feel shameful about?

Is there something in your life that you have done that you just don’t feel right about?

Is there something that when you are trying to get to sleep at night just keeps coming into your mind?

Is there something that causes you anxiety?

Is there something in your life that you think God will never love me, you don’t know what I have done?

We can become so upset and worried about what we have done that it stops us from experiencing all that God has for us.

If we are all honest we have all experienced shame in some form.

God gave his only Son for us that we can live in freedom.

God gave his only Son for us so that we can be free.

God want us to be free.

Maybe it’s time for you to give it to God.

He can handle it.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit.

There is no condemnation! Read this and receive it.

This verse will provide you with comfort.

Speak it out over your life.

Write it up and place it somewhere, so it will remind you that you are forgiven.

There is hope, there is forgiveness, there is His Grace and His love.

Shame you do not belong here anymore.

God is for me and with me.

He will comfort me and protect me.

Be kind to yourself.

The Positive Jar

The Positive Jar

At the beginning of this year I decided to buy a jar to make a positive jar.

I also brought some colourful post it notes.

The idea is that every time that something lovely, positive or I just want to remember, happens I will write it on a post it note and place it in the jar.

I will continue this until the end of the year and then on New Year’s Eve I will empty all the post it notes and read about my year.

This is such a great way to remember what has happened in the year.

Maybe this is something that you could start now?

Take the time to find a beautiful jar decorate it if you like, personalise it. Then you will need to place it somewhere that you will notice it every day.

This will be a visual reminder for you.

If you don’t want to use colourful post it notes use some paper that you like. It’s is your jar to do what you want with it. So make it your style.

Design your own jar

If you can’t even think of where to start, what about something that you are thankful for?

What about a friend who encourages you?

What about a book that you are reading?

You might want to read what you have written in your jar maybe once a month?

It is up to you.

If you have started your positive jar maybe you can send a picture of it?

Would really love to see how you personalise your jar?

Will chat soon.

Life gets busy and we are constantly rushing from one thing to another.

There are things to do, places to be and people to see.

I don’t know about you but I can become very focused on living life on fast forward. I find myself thinking what next, what do I have to do now?

I love my life and what I get to do.

I am blessed.

Today as I arrived home from shopping, the sun was out the skies was blue and I noticed the flowers.

We are in the season of spring here and the flowers are starting to bloom. The last few weeks I have arrived home from days full of adventure and kept looking at the amazing flowers that are out the front.

I kept thinking to myself I need to stop and smell them.

I am not sure of the names of the flowers, I am not very good at gardening.

So here is a picture of them-

What are these flowers called?

I love these flowers the smell reminds me that Spring has arrived.

So instead of rushing to grab my shopping and hurry into the house, I stopped to smell the flowers. I took that time to slow down, to embrace the fragrance of this season. I also picked some and have placed them in my house as a visual reminder to slow down from time to time.

My thought was if I keep thinking about smelling the flowers but never do it then I am going to miss out on the experience. I am going to have to wait until next spring when the flowers bloom to have a reminder of the beautiful fragrance.

It made me think about other areas in my life.

What is it that you can stop and do today?

Is it to phone that friend that you haven’t spoken to in a while?

Is it to go to your favourite coffee shop and order a coffee and just sit and people watch?

Is it just to read a few chapters of that book that you have started reading?

Is it to visit a family member and just to catch up?

What is it that you can go and do today?

Remember to just stop and smell the flowers?
