Easter Sunday

This weekend I have been very blessed spending time with my family and my nieces and nephew. I also love spending time with my sister.

Then today we went out to lunch with friends I love catching up and hearing about what everyone is up too. There are always lots of changes happening that we need to catch up on, some milestone birthdays are happening this year and also discussing where we are holidaying.

I have included today pictures of people and things that I love.

I am also excited that I am redecorating my house I have been on Pinterst which I love that website. It has lots of great ideas about basically everything that you are interested in. So for me at the moment I want to redecorate my place. I need some more space for all my create items. This morning I went through my creative items and I do have a lot.

I think that maybe a trip to IKEA is the answer to my storage problems. Decorating your house and making it your own is being creative. Your house is a signature of who you are. It is your personal touch and I love that.

Adventures

The last few nights I have slept very well, for me this is something new. I have woken up this morning feeling refreshed and peaceful.

I have been thinking about a lot of things that I would like to do.  I have been thinking about what I would like to achieve and also how to make a difference in the community.

I have enjoyed the simplicity of today, doing washing, hanging it up and then bringing it in when it has dried.

I was thinking that I am grateful that I have clothes to wash.

I just want to embrace my life at this moment.

Today I have a sign up that says-

What Would You Attempt To Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail?

Image

I love this saying it encourages me, it inspires me, it challenges me and it motivates me.

The beginning of the year I wrote on a large canvas my Life Adventures I have about 20 things on my list at the moment and I will be adding to this list. I have achieved one thing of my list at the moment which is ice skating.

I have plenty more to achieve. Yeah!

What would I do?

What is something that you would love to do?

Hope that this inspires you?

Good Friday

Today I remember and reflect on what Jesus did for us on the cross.  This is really important to me.

Today also was a time to spend with my family.

We celebrated Easter together. We ate, we laughed, and the children received Easter Eggs and ate chocolate.  We also played soccer, we chatted and we just enjoyed each other’s company.

My sister made some amazing food which we all enjoyed.

It was a great time to relax and catch up with each other.

I love spending time with my nieces and nephew. I love it, I really do. It’s all about creating memories.

I took a few photos which I just love.

Thursday

I will have to say that this week has been an adventure.

I have had the holiday program which has just been amazing. I have really enjoyed the 3 to 5 year olds, they make me laugh and are very caring. One of them even painted me a beautiful picture and brought it in for me.

Feeling so blessed at the moment.

Today the activity was called Shining Stars which is all about drama, making props, designing backgrounds and learning about how to move in different way. We even tried to float around like bubbles while I was blowing bubbles for them.

They designed amazing backgrounds for their play and I have some pictures of their work. They really enjoyed designing them and they worked for quite a while on them.

We then all sat down as a whole group then each group came up and explained their background. Oh the details. They all spoke about what they had drawn, they had put so much thought into them. A squiggled line was a footprint, I love their imagination.

Then it was time for the play and didn’t they shine.

Each child then received a silver shining star that has written on the back- This Shining Star is Awarded to ………………. (their name is added).

They each came up in front of the group and shook my hand and where given their stars. Then everyone gave them a big round of applause. I was very surprised that all of the children new how to shake hands. Their faces when they were presented their stars where so delightful.

Today was my last day at the holiday program.

I am sure that I will attend the next lot of holidays.

School Holiday Project-

If you have children at home this school holidays then how about letting them create their own play. Sell tickets to your friends, set up the audience area with chairs. Use objects around your home for props depending on the play that you are doing. Let them come up with the idea of their play and just go with it (as long as it is safe) they will enjoy it a whole lot more if it is their idea.

If you have younger children 3 to 8 year olds then you will need to supervise them.

Older children may like to write out their play and then rehearse and have the play on a particular day.

Most of all enjoy the whole experience.

Looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow.

Halfway

I cannot believe that I am halfway through the month with my blogging. It has really challenged me to continue writing each day. I must say though I am enjoying it, I know that it is creating memories. I already have ideas for next month. Stay tuned for that one, I am looking forward to the next challenge.

Last night I attended my first Tuesday night of Samba lessons, I ended up doing two hours. I did the beginners class and then the intermediate class. The reason I did this was because I think that I would have gone home and then not attended the intermediate class. Whatever I need to do to get there then I will do it. Oh my gosh I love dancing and learning new things. I am really going to have to practise this week for next week.

Today I went to work as a fairy, I did really. I had the holiday program and the class was called- Once Upon a Time. It was about stories, songs, drawings and most of the children came dressed up. I had the 3 to 5 year olds again and they were such a lovely group. Some of them also dressed up as well and I received a few nice comments about my dress.

I love that I am able to share my joy and love of creativity with lovely children.

School Holiday project number four-

Once upon a time

This is a time to be able to read some stories to your children ones that they are interested in. You can also share your favourite childhood stories with them.

After you have read a story or 2 or 3 or as many as you like, then ask them to draw their own story.

This develops language, imagination, fine motor skills.

They are also spending valuable time with you which is really quite nice. You are also building memories for them.

Have fun and enjoy yourself.

Variety

I love my life now, I am able to do so many different things. I love the variety of my life.

As you know I am a school chaplain which I love.

During the holidays I work at a holiday program where I have 3 to 5 year olds. I am only doing 4 sessions this holidays and I love the variety of working with older children as well as the younger children.

The 3 to 5 year olds have different attention spans, they are all individuals which I really enjoy. I like getting to know their little personalities, their selective hearing. (I really love this one although when I mentioned lollies they did hear me).

I just love their creativity and their have a go attitude.

They make me laugh and they are so funny.

My life at the moment is so full, I love what I am able to do and to achieve.

I have noticed that I have this new attitude of no I am not going to let the little things get me down. I am going to focus on the things that I can do and the things that I can change.

I am also really enjoying blogging and learning all about this new area in my life.

Today I haven’t included a project I have some pictures that I took from the holiday program where the children are able to make whatever they like.

They really enjoy this one and the class was fully booked.

I love how they make the most amazing things.  They are learning about many things as they do this. They learn about sharing, about gluing and finding what will stick. They are able to experiment with their ideas and there is time for them to chat to the other children.  This covers their social and emotional development.

It was a great day.

Live Each Day to the Full

This afternoon I attended a funeral of a parent from one of the schools I work at. I wanted to be there to support her children. My heart goes out to her beautiful children.

It always makes you think when you attend a funeral.

It makes you think, am I doing what I love, am I using my time wisely, am I investing in my friendships and am I living each day to the full.

Living each day to the full, what does that look like for you?

How do you create memories?

What are you passionate about?

Are you pursuing your dreams and goals?

Are you making a difference in your community?

Are you going to do things differently?

These are just some of the things that I am thinking about and for me the most important question is am I making a difference in the community.

This is a journey that I am on and I do want to embrace it with everything that I have.

School Holiday Project day Three-

  • A small photo album
  • Patterned or coloured paper to go into the photo album

Sunday

This weekend I have really enjoyed the space to create.

#spacetocreate came about out of #marchchallenge2014.

I have had time to create art, to have a bit of a clean out, to blog and to prepare for the week ahead. I have also recreated my creative space and I have had time to clean my house.

Sunday has been a nice relaxing day and I am going to embrace these days. They are days when you are creating memories, when you can take the time to reflect on your dreams and goals. I love the fact that I don’t have to be anywhere at any particular time. These days are needed and I value them.

I have decided that I want to continue to write, to blog, to continue songwriting and to learn as much as I can.

I want to be able to embrace every day and learn from it.

I also want to keep on learning, I love learning, I really do, and it motivates me.

What inspires you to create?

Do you have a special place you like to create?

What motivates you to create?

School Holiday Program Project Two

This is a great idea for girls from years 7 and up.

Jazz up a Jar

  • some bling crystals

Friends

I love the weekend, a sleep in then my last Samba class on Saturdays. Loved it.

Today I caught up with my lovely friend. I love our friendship, it’s one of those very special friendships.

We don’t catch up for a while and then when we catch up, it’s like we just carry on from our last catch up. I love that about friendships.

Today we met up and chatted and chatted.

We had tea, coffee and chatted and chatted.

We encouraged each other, we just listened to each other, and we shared our dreams and goals.

Yes, it was a great day.

School Holiday project one-

Create Create Create

  • Save empty cereal boxes, or any type of boxes. Making sure that they are safe for children to use.
  • Go to the two dollar shop and buy age appropriate items. (make sure you read the age appropriate sign on the items you buy).
  • Set up a table outside in the shade or inside.
  • Cover the table with newspaper.
  • Place all the containers and items on the table.

Let your child/children create,  this will encourage their imagination, their problem solving skills, their fine motor skills and their language development. If you have more than one child then they can learn about sharing and co-operation.

Make sure that you are supervising them.

Most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will talk to you tomorrow.

School Holidays

Today is the last day of first term, the school holidays start tomorrow.

I cannot believe how fast this term has gone and how much has happened.

I love my job, I really do. I am very blessed.

I was thinking as I was driving home today that I wanted to be in a career where I could make a difference. Now I have the opportunity and I love what I do.

I must say though it is nice to have some time off. It’s really quite funny how things work out in my last job I would hardly ever take time off. Now I am in a career where I have this time off and guess what, I love it.

It does help in the balancing of my work and home life.

Even though we are on holidays, we are on call in case something happens in our community.

I know that the teachers and the students are looking forward to the holidays.

I hope that everyone has a lovely and safe holiday.

If you have school holidays what will you be doing?

I will be posting some ideas in the next few weeks.

They will include outings you can go on and lots of craft activities to keep your children busy.

So enjoy tomorrow hope that you get a sleep in.

Looking forward to talking to you tomorrow.
