Life and the Single Christian Girl……….

I have found myself at the end of another month of blogging. So far this year I have blogged every day since the 1^st of March 2014.

I am really enjoying the challenge of writing everyday and also the discipline it takes.

I am really looking forward to the holidays and just enjoying the days.

I will be preparing for the holiday program next week. I am working three days and I really love it.

I think that it helps my creativity.

My program this holidays consist of a Teddy Bear day, I am going to cut out some cardboard teddy bear shapes and then the children can add wool and googly eye. I am asking the children to bring in their teddy bears.  We are going to have a teddy bear story and some games.

Then in the afternoon we are going to make some cards of all different types.

The next day I am having a clay art and playdough day so lots of messy fun. The children can make what they would like an animal or a person. I will have some craft items for them to add to the clay.

Then in the afternoon I am buying some canvases for the children to draw on using fine line textas and then they are going to wash over it with edicol dye.

The next day I have a full day of drama workshop which will be great.

So lots of preparation work but it will all be worth it.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………..

I think that the week has caught up with me.

I slept in this morning which was really nice especially because it was cold.

Last night was lovely catching up with my sister, my brother in law an d his Mum. I loved having a beautifully cooked dinner, a lovely dessert and some wine. We shared our week, we laughed and had a great time.

Now I am feeling a bit exhausted although I am ready for another fully packed week.

I love how my weeks are never the same. I love the variety, the people that I am able to meet and just being able to experience different things.

I am glad that I have completed my first aid course, this was on my list of things to do.

I have one week left of school and then I have two weeks of school holidays.

I am working at a holiday program for the first three days of the holidays. I am planning the program at the moment which I really enjoy. I also love buying all the items that I need and finding little treasures hidden in a shop. It fuels that creative part in me.

The rest of the holidays I will be catching up with friends.

I also want to be able to have some creative adventures.

The Adventure begins.

I love this saying.

Life can be a great adventure, everyone you meet can make a difference in your life.

Today I went to work in my pyjamas, yes I really did.

I loved it I even brought myself a new onesie for the morning.

They all had breakfast and there was lots of chatting and laughing. I loved it.

This afternoon I went to the dress rehearsal for the Drama Group. I have really enjoyed being able to help out.

The performance will be next week and I cannot wait to see how they all go. I have seen so many of the really shine and they are amazing. I cannot wait to see how it goes.

So now I am home and working on my to do list.

I have this blog to do which I am so enjoying, creatively it is such a learning experience. It makes me think out of the box.

Writing about a topic everyday since March has been a great opportunity and I would like to continue.

So now I have to go and read my first aid manual for Saturday.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………

Today has been full, I love it though and I am grateful for all that I am able to do and experience.

I am home now reflecting on the day.

I went to work and I just love the diversity of my role as a Chaplain. I am in a classroom singing, then I am helping with reading groups and then I have a group of students for a program before lunch.

I want every student that I see to know that I believe in them, to know that they are valued and to know that they are able to achieve amazing things.

Yes they are!

At 1pm I had a meeting and it was great to catch up with everyone and just see how they are doing.

After that I went to my brother, sister in law and my nieces and nephew house.

I love seeing them, I am always greeted at the door like I have not seen them for ages.  Then I am ushered be someone to see what they have been doing or what they have made or a new skill that they have learnt.

My youngest niece is 9 months old and see is crawling, standing up by holding onto something and discovering new sounds that she can make.

I was thinking about how the world looks through children’s eyes.

My niece who is crawling is having a go she doesn’t get concerned about who is watching or if she cannot do it properly. She just has a go. When babies are learning to do this and master this we all clap and get really excited for them.

I think that sometimes we can benefit ourselves by watching a child and learning from them. I think also by getting down to their level and understanding where they are.

I think that this can transfer into being creative. I know that there have been times when I have really been unsure about what I am doing with my art. I think that I am particularly hard on myself with my singing. I have judged myself harshly, I have compared myself with others and thought that I was not good enough.

I love singing and when I sing I feel free and happy.

My challenge for myself is to be creative and just do it.

Being creative is individual and it is your own concept.

Be brave.

Do more of what you love.

Create, create, create.

I have really enjoyed my day today.

I love the things that I am able to do.

Today is a gift!

It really is.

I am updating my first aid on Saturday and I have just sat my on line questions assessment.

I did get one wrong oops!

I did pass though yeah!

I am hoping that I can continue with what I know on Saturday.

This is the day that I am able to do all the practical things. I am looking forward to it, although it is a full day.

I am glad that I am able to continue with my first aid I have had to use it quite a bit and it is good to stay up with the latest skills.

So I will need to read through the handouts for this Saturday.

It will all be good.

I am really trying to focus on one day at a time so not to get overwhelmed in the last few weeks of school.

I have my lists for my day to day and will just work through them.

It will all get done.

Loving my life accepting the challenges and working through my to list.

Life and the Single Christian Girl……….

This morning I woke up feeling so much peace and just content.

I had a really nice relaxing sleep, one that was quite refreshing.

This morning I went to church and I just love church. Worship time is always so lovely, I love to worship.

I love catching up with everyone, they are just so encouraging.

I drove home thinking I blessed I really am.

Sometimes we can get so caught up in what we have to do or what we need to do.  That we just forget how blessed we really are.

I am content with where I am, with what I am learning and what I am able to do with my everyday life.

I have been looking at going overseas to participate in another impact trip. I really loved the time that I went to Bali and visited and help in the orphanages.

So I looked on a website last night and was inspired.

I found one where you could go and teach disadvantaged youth performing arts. When I saw that it was like it leapt out of the page for me.

I love the performing arts, singing, dancing, drama, writing and art.

I have been really inspired helping one of the teachers out at one of my schools, with the Drama Club. I have enjoyed seeing the students shine in their role and just to see how much they have grown in their acting abilities.

So I will definitely be looking at helping children/youth learning about the Performing Arts.

This has really inspired me and encouraged me to maybe in one of the school holidays to participate in a program.

Helping others who don’t have a much as you do and just journeying with them is amazing.

I would love the opportunity to be able to help again.

I know that sometimes you think that you are going over to make a difference but really you learn so much from the children and from the people that care for them.

I love their passion.

Making a difference.

Life and the Single Christian Girl…………..

I love my Saturdays, I really do.

There was a time where I worked every Saturday night for 10 years. I cannot believe that I did that working every Saturday night for 10 years.

Maybe that is why I am still single? No only joking.

I really don’t want to work on the weekends for a while.

Today I picked up my tickets for Sydney I am going to the SPARC Conference and cannot wait. So I have already booked my flights and accommodation.

Yeah I am getting so excited about going.

Meeting other creative Christians and seeing what they are creating.

Then I ended up in a stationary shop.

Surprise!

I do love stationary, shoes and bling.

I just cannot resist them.

Today I ended up buying 5 notebooks for 5 dollars.

I also brought a stamp that said Love it.

I then went and brought a jacket which I really need  where I work. It is so cold there.

I home now and have been spending the rest of the day setting up my creative area.

I have added a white bookcase on top of the table. I saw something similar on Pinterest. So I am slowly developing it.

I love my creative area.

I love being able to create.

I love the creative process.
