Leadership

 

Today I was invited to go the Leadership Conference with the Prefects at one of the schools I am at.

The day started out using public transport to the conference where I witnessed an act, I am going to call as cowardly.

Let me just say being in a group and picking on one person does not make you tough. Doing it in front of adults and primary students does not make you a hero. Getting your friends to hold your bag, and then your friends having their phones ready to video your attack on the one person does not make you someone who people would like to follow. Making threats to one individual does not make you a leader. You are the exact opposite of Leadership, what I saw was an act of a coward who needed an audience.

Usually my blog is full of inspiration and building people up. What I saw today made me realise that I needed to speak up, to stand in the gap for the victim.

 

We did end up having such a great day at the conference and the students really enjoyed themselves. The conference was really well done and there were about 1700 primary school students there.

A day full of adventures.

My thought-Be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

Coffees Catch Ups

 

I love coffee catch ups with friends they are always so inspiring.

People who know me know that I like my coffee in a take away cup. I also like my coffee to be a skinny flat white extra hot. I find this way my coffee stays hot enough for a good long chat with a friend. I will try some new types of coffee this year, I will branch out a little bit.

Today I met up with a friend at a shopping centre for a catch up I hadn’t seen her for a while and it was so great to sit and hear what she has been doing. I love it when you catch up with your friends they are always encouraging and are doing lots of things in their lives.

 

We sat and chatted for a while and then went shopping.

 

I was very tempted to buy some new shoes, oh maybe some new boots now that winter is coming. I also love shoes. My other favourite thing that I love looking at is stationary I just love it.

Sunday

 

My Sunday.

I actually had a sleep in this morning after a fantastic night at the Bush Dance. It was a quite a productive day yesterday and I loved it.

Today we had two celebrations in our family my Sister’s birthday and my Mum and Dad 40^th Wedding Anniversary.

We gave them some flowers, a frame with a picture of them in it and then pictures of all of the children in the family at the same ages. It looked lovely.

 

Now it is time to work on some projects and prepare for the week ahead.

I am actually enjoying my break from studying it allows me to pursue those projects that I haven’t had time to pursue.

Also I must remember to relax and just enjoy the day.

Saturday

I really enjoy my Saturdays, I also am able to have a bit of a sleep in. Yeah!

Saturdays is my Samba day, I am so enjoying my dance class and learning heaps.

Then I went to my hairdressers and had my hair cut, coloured and straightened. Love it!

Tonight I was able to help out at one of the school I work at they were having a fundraiser. It was such a beautiful night. The theme was a bush dance.

I was also able to help sell raffle tickets and glow stick.

I was also the MC (host) for the night, it was so much fun and I with the help of others was able to draw the raffle. The prizes where amazing. I love how the community is so support and generous. Love it.

Then I was able to have a dance and learn a new bush dance.

Sitting back now and feeling so blessed.

Beautiful Day

There are always those days where you feel not your cheerful self and that’s okay we all have those days.

Today for me is one of those days not tired, sad, or upset, just flat. I am not sure why it might be, it may be that I am recovering from a cold and feeling a bit blaggg!

I have the choice whether I can let that feeling overwhelm me and ruin my day, or I can choose to do the day well. I can also mix with people who are encouraging, who are inspiring, and who are doing great projects to help others.

I have to remind myself that we live in a beautiful place where we have freedom. I just have to look up at the sky and like today see a beautiful blue sky.

We are so blessed where we live here. We just need to remind ourselves that we are valued, worthy and loved.

Driving

 

 

I live near the city and I work up in the beautiful hills of Perth. It’s not really that far to drive probably about 40 minutes.

I don’t mind the drive it’s quite nice. I use this time to listen to music, to practise my singing, I listen to Zumba music so I can learn the songs. I also will listen to teaching messages.

I could drive to work and home feeling stressed in the traffic but I have decided to use the drive as something that motivates me. I choose to enjoy the drive and use it wisely.

Although sometimes there are those days like this morning where I thought I was going to be late to work. The traffic was backed up and we were only inching a little bit. It ended up being a truck that had broken down. I managed to arrive at work just on time. Which was such a relief because I like to be on time.

Adventures in driving will be continued………

Seasons

The picture that I have taken today is of the Frangipani tree that is out the front of my house. I love this plant it just reminds me of the seasons that we are in.

 

 Although I must admit I have looked out and thought there are no flowers at all, when did that happen? Then it reminds me that it is time for Spring and Summer. How often I miss the changes of the tree while I am rushing around coming home, going out and living my life.

I want to be mindful of the days and reflect on the positive things that have happened and really enjoy them.  Also with the challenges of my day I will reflect on them as well.

Life is busy and that’s okay, but I want to remember like the tree that the seasons change.

The tree weathers the storms and survives.  

The tree weathers the heat and survives. 

The tree embraces the rain and survives.

I want my life to be resilient like the tree. The tree is strong and capable and knows what to do in any season that It find itself in.

So my challenge for myself is to go with the seasons and embrace them whatever they look like.

I would like to bloom where I am planted to make a difference in the community.

The Princess Heart Journey

 

Today the picture that I am sharing with you is the chords for my songs Princess Heart and a heart that I brought on the weekend.

The Princess Heart Journey started in around 2007. The title came out of a journey that I was going through in my life.

I wrote a song about my journey and will be recording it soon. I am really looking forward to being able to share it.

I am also writing a book about my journey and have started on a journal as well. So there are lots of projects on the go at the moment which is exciting.

Doing the March Challenge has made me look around more at life. It has made me look around at what I am actually doing. Sometimes I must admit I have tunnel vision when I am just so focused on what is in front of me. I have just realised this and I would like to be focused on things that are going on around me.

I think that taking a picture a day has inspired me to look around and to see what I like and also where I am heading.  It has renewed my passion to be creative every day.

My Sister

 

It will be my sister’s birthday next Sunday so today as a family we joined together to celebrate her birthday early.

She is an amazing sister. She works as a Manager of a hydraulics company, yes that’s right at a hydraulic company.

She loves travelling, enjoys flying, V8 supercars, the Grand Prix and really embraces life to the full. She lives a full and abundant life.

She always says- Just do it!

 

She is very generous and loves her family.

So to my sister Leeza today we celebrate you, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I know that you will enjoy your birthday. Celebrate well.

How He Loves Us

Today I was blessed to speak at Eastgate Church. I love speaking at this Church it is a blessing to the Community and they are always so welcoming and encouraging.

 

The message I spoke on today was- How He Loves Us which is all about what Gods says about us. It was how we talk to ourselves and to others. Are we an encouraging in our words, are we edifying others with our words. It’s amazing while you prepare yourself for a message you begin to notice it around you. So I was aware the last few weeks about what I was saying to people. How I spoke to the people that I came in contact with and also how I spoke to myself.

I love the opportunity to share what I have learn’t and I am grateful for the opportunities that come my way.

So today lovelies be blessed, be encouraged, be amazing, try new things, look for the next adventure and be kind to yourself. We are all learning.
